Felt Pins

Recently, I've been working on a lot of felt pins. There's something about the layering of felt and fabric that's really soothing. Choosing which colors to mix with which and what color thread to embroider designs with, is a very relaxing process. A lot of the pins I've been making are ones that required no use of the sewing machine, so I can just sit down and make pin after pin just about anywhere I want. Not that I don't love using my sewing machine, but there's just something to be said about a simpler approach of crafting. Creating something great using just your hands and no machines. Never making the exact same stitch a second time.

A few years ago, I bought a number of vintage buttons from an antique store. One of the buttons I bought was a few of these dark brown plastic flower buttons. I never really knew what to use them on because they are so powerful on their own that I didn't want to just sew them on a bag and have them get lost is the fabric or whatever was going on with the bag. Needless to say, these buttons are Perfect for pins!

They make great additions to your coat, bag, or even your sweater! The hardest thing about them is deciding which one to wear first! There's a few up in our Etsy shop now, but look for more in the next couple days. Enjoy and let us know what you think about these new items!

New Items and Designs!

Well, we haven't posted in a while....but we're back now with all new items! When I first started selling on Etsy, I was focusing primarily on jewelry. I made tons of earrings with old buttons and my massive collection of beads, both old and new. Eventually, I, along with Kinsey, moved the focus more towards sewn goods. My massive collection of beads now competed for room with our ever growing shelves of fabric.
Recently, I have become re-interested in making necklaces. As a result, I've added jewelry back into our Etsy store. Something about mixing new and vintage beads together is very appealing to me again, so I've been experimenting with designs for the past few weeks.

I've been especially into making charm necklaces, like this hummingbird one.

But don't think our focus has changed....it's just being broaden. We're still sewing away and are listing new bags and clutches frequently. (Some of our newest obsessions include aprons! Look for them soon!) So enjoy the new jewelry on our Etsy store and let us know what you think!
