Felt Pins

Recently, I've been working on a lot of felt pins. There's something about the layering of felt and fabric that's really soothing. Choosing which colors to mix with which and what color thread to embroider designs with, is a very relaxing process. A lot of the pins I've been making are ones that required no use of the sewing machine, so I can just sit down and make pin after pin just about anywhere I want. Not that I don't love using my sewing machine, but there's just something to be said about a simpler approach of crafting. Creating something great using just your hands and no machines. Never making the exact same stitch a second time.

A few years ago, I bought a number of vintage buttons from an antique store. One of the buttons I bought was a few of these dark brown plastic flower buttons. I never really knew what to use them on because they are so powerful on their own that I didn't want to just sew them on a bag and have them get lost is the fabric or whatever was going on with the bag. Needless to say, these buttons are Perfect for pins!

They make great additions to your coat, bag, or even your sweater! The hardest thing about them is deciding which one to wear first! There's a few up in our Etsy shop now, but look for more in the next couple days. Enjoy and let us know what you think about these new items!

I completely understand about putting the bits of felt together. I also love embroidery stitches in felt!
